2x 84 Watt, Dual Output Precision TEC Controller
The TEC-1161-4A is a specialized TEC controller able to precisely control two independent Peltier elements or resistive heaters. Each output channel features a true bipolar current source for cooling / heating, two temperature monitoring inputs (1x high resolution, 1x auxiliary) and intelligent PID control with built-in autotune. The TEC-1161's hardware and firmware offers various communication and multiple safety options.
Powerful Two-Channel TEC Control
The TEC-1161's two independent channels may also be operated in parallel, to either drive two individual or one common load (current doubling). Further functionality and features include: smooth temperature ramping, thermal stability indication and auto gain (NTC probes). The heating and cooling power is optimized by proprietary thermal management routines based on power balance models (for Peltier elements and resistive heaters).
Auxiliary Temperature Sensors for Added Safety
The TEC-1161-4A is delivered configured for independent NTC (thermistor) temperature sensors for each channel. Each channel is also configured with an auxiliary temperature input that allow the connection of an NTC temperature sensor located on the heat sink of the Peltier elements; these auxiliary sensors can be used to ensure the thermal safety of the system by preventing thermal runaway. The analog measurement circuit is factory calibrated.
Versatile TEC Control for Laser Diodes and Temperature Sensitive Electronics
These small footprint TEC controllers are digitally controllable through software or API and scripting, including a LabVIEW VI software (PDF) available to operate the TEC controller. Several communication and security features enhance the functional range. The PC-Software allows data logging and configuration import/export.
