Product Overview:

20 Amp OEM TEC Controller, PID, PWM

This is an advanced TEC controller using a microprocessor unit with a pre-programmed PID control algorithm. The controller drives the TEC using pulse width modulation (PWM), which reduces the overall power consumption and minimizes the heat dissipated on the MOSFET. The TEC controller operates only in cooling mode, which increases power efficiency and also allows for a smaller board footprint with fewer components.

Compact TEC Controller Designed for High Power

The PCB is two-layer with wide paths, allowing the controller to drive TECs up to 20 A. However, the connectors on the PCB are rated to 13 A; if there is a need to use the full 20 A capability, the TEC wires should be soldered directly to the printed circuit board. The driver can be powered from 7 to 25 V voltage range, which allows for joining TECs in parallel or in series.

The TEC includes the aluminum heatsink plate, which is predrilled for mounting to your heatsink or instrument chassis.

The maximum current flowing through the device depends on the TEC used. Voltage dropout on a driver is very small so current can be predicted by reading TEC labels. For example, 12704 means 12 V and 4 A. 12715 means 12 V and 15 A. Please remember that high current needs proper wiring and appropriate gauge connecting wires.
