25 Amp / 64 Volt Laser Driver Overview
The high power LDI-532 drivers offer up to 1.7 killowatts of power for laser diodes connected in series, laser diode stacks and multi-emitter devices. The drivers feature multiple levels of built-in laser diode protection which have been optimized for multi-chip laser diodes. They are used to safely power the newest generation of pump lasers from companies such as nLight, Lumics, DILAS, and II-IV.
Laser Driver Features
These drivers feature a user programmable soft-start ramp of the bias current to the laser diode. The factory sets the ramp time to 300 milliseconds as the default, but the user can adjust this time period from 1 millisecond up to 10's of seconds. This current ramp-up and ramp-down function is designed to protect the laser from thermal shock during power-up and power-down sequences.
Additionally, these units offer CW, modulated and Quasi-CW/ pulsed modes and have an integrated function generator. Pulse widths as narrow as 30 microseconds are achievable.
Protection Features for High Voltage Laser Diodes
The driver includes laser diode protection features such as current limit, soft start current ramp, and power surge filters to make sure that your laser diodes are protected at all times.
Laser Driver Control User Interface
The LDI-532 features front-panel controls for fast and simple setup, and includes an RS232 interface with LabView drivers. An optional USB digital interface is available; inquire for details on ordering the USB control option.
Controller Power Interface
The LDI-532 also has AC line filters and a fast response to shunt the current in the event of an open-circuit. The driver utilizes a high current rear panel connector, and there are multiple cabling options available to ensure reliable connection to your device under test.
The driver is designed in a rack-mount 19 inch chassis.
