Product Overview:

These high power drivers offer up to 1.7 killowatts of power for laser diodes connected in series, laser diode stacks and multi-emitter devices. They offer an RS232 or USB (optional) digital interface with control software and LabView drivers. They have integrated laser diode protection features such as current limit, soft start current ramp and power surge filters to make sure that your laser diodes are protected at all times. Additionally, these units offer CW, modulated and Quasi-CW/ pulsed modes and have an integrated function generator. Pulse width's as narrow as 30 microseconds are achievable. They are offered in a rack-mount 19 inch width chassis and have a front panel with adjustment knobs for fast, simple set-up.

Protection Features for High Voltage Laser Diodes:
These drivers feature multiple levels of built-in laser diode protection which have been optimized for multi-chip laser diodes. They are used to safely power the newest generation of pump lasers from companies such as nLight, Lumics, DILAS and II-IV. These drivers feature is a user programmable soft-start ramp of the bias current to the laser diode. The factory sets the ramp time to 300 milliseconds as the default, but the user can adjust this time period from 1 millisecond up to 10's of seconds. This current ramp up and down function is designed to protect the laser from thermal shock during power up and down sequences. In addition to this soft-start ramp, these drivers offer features such as high current surge clamping, user adjustable current limit and a brown-out and black-out power surge clamp. The LDI-532 also has AC line filters and a fast response to shunt the current in the event of an open-circuit. These drivers utilize a high current rear panel connector and there are multiple cabling options available to ensure reliable connection to your device under test.
