Product Overview:

100 Amp, 1kW OEM Laser Diode Driver Module

The LDD-1000 is a high-power pulse-mode or CW-mode laser diode driver, designed for use in OEM applications, and driving up to 1000 Watts output power. The driver is packaged in a protective, rugged, and compact metal case, and includes integrated fans for cooling the module. A minimum number of electrical connections are required to operate the LDD-1000, which ultimately means fast and efficient configuration overall lower integration cost.

Factory-Configured Output For Maximum Efficiency

The LDD controllers are capable of driving up to 100 Amps. At the time of order, the maximum current and maximum voltage requirements are determined by the user and set by the factory, with a maximum power output Pmax = Imax * Vmax = 1000 Watts. When the module is operating, the output current is user-adjustable from 0 A to the Imax determined by the user. This factory-customization process results in maximum electrical efficiency in the OEM application.

Multiple Control Modes for Optimized Convenience

The output current level is user-adjustable by applying a DC voltage to the control pin, and the output current switched on by a +5V TTL signal to the output enable pin. The modulation frequency and pulse width are set by an external active-low TTL signal from a pulse generator. The control signal interface is a 15-pin D-Sub connector.

An optional control PCB is available, purchased separately, that provides configuration jumpers, monitor voltage test points, and the current adjustment trimpot. This accessory board is ordered with part number -STA.

The laser driver module can be controlled by RS-232 using an interface board that connects to the 15-pin D-Sub connector. The command list is short and easy to use in custom-written application software. This optional interface board is part number -RS232.

Multiple Output Power Models Available

The LDD-Series laser diode drives are available with different maximum output power: 600 Watt, 1000 Watt, 1500 Watt, and by special request, up to 2000 Watts. Inquire with us for details about the LDD-600, LDD-1500, and LDD-2000 models

IEC 60601-1 Safety Compliant for Medical Applications

Diode drivers were designed to comply with IEC 60601-1 (safety) and IEC 60601-1-2 (EMC). Therefore, modules may be used in different kinds of medical devices without any additional filtration and safety measures, at the same time for the proven compliance to standards for a certain modification the certification procedure is need to be passed, which is available on demand.
