Product Overview:

ILX Lightwave model: LDM-4405 This low cost heat sink is designed for TO-can packaged lasers to provide an affordable solution for controlling either 5.6 millimeter or 9 millimeter packaged devices. An integrated peltier cooler provides a wide temperature control range. The LDM-4405 provides a compact, easy to use solution for mounting and temperature controlling TO-can packages. The user has complete access to the front of the diode laser for coupling collimating optics and lenses. These heat sinks work with diodes that have three pin or four pin configurations. The internal thermoelectric module provides a wide control range of temperatures. Devices can be operated from ten degrees up to eighty five degrees in an ambient lab environment of 25C. They will dissipate up to five hundred watts of heat and also include a nitrogen purge system which will reduce the impact of moisture and condensation build up. These anodized aluminum heat sinks will work with any current source and TEC controller, but have cable pin configurations which match to the standard ILX Lightwave output configuration. They can be mounted to an optical table through flange extensions on the base of the unit. Each 4405 is shipped with a clamping plate which presses the header of the LD package on to the temperature controller mounting plate. The clamping plate includes a silicon o-ring which provides the torque required to ensure good contact and optimal heat removal form the device under test.
