Product Overview:

AMI offers the Model 8800D for laboratory and bench-top pulsed laser diode driver applications.

The Model 8800D is a high power pulsed laser diode controller that provides output current to drive laser diodes for pumping solid-state lasers. It has an internal microprocessor provides the flexibility and convenience of software control and the system status is presented on an easy-to-read LCD graphics display.

The Model 8800D can be configured with one or two power modules for up to 2.8kW of output power Protection features of the 8800D include an adjustable precision current limit which protects the laser diode from exceeding its maximum rating.

It is a prototyping tool that allows the laser developer flexibility to determine the best laser diode and drive for their end use. It has front panel and remote controls as well as operation via a RS-232 interface.  The output current is presented on an easy-to-read LCD display.

This software-controlled unit provides up to 80 Amps of current in CW mode and 300 Amps in pulsed mode. Pulse durations range from 5 µs to 5 ms, with repetition rates from less than 1 Hz to 1 kHz. It can be configured to include custom software and a 1.75-kW or a 3.5-kW internal power supply. It can also slowly ramp the output current to the level set by the user.
