Product Overview:
QCW Pulsed Laser Diode Driver + TEC Temperature Controller
The SDC-50A is a pulsed laser diode driver designed for controlling the pump laser diodes used in Nd:YAG and DPSS lasers. It is a fast-switching, low-noise and very efficient current source. This driver and TEC controller is for QCW pulse mode operation, and was developed specifically for diode pumping applications.
RS-485 or Stand-Alone Control Modes
The controller is easily configured via RS-485 interface. The user sets the pulse width and frequency, output current, temperature set point, and temperature stabilization mode. The operational control mode is set either to Remote Control mode or Stand-Alone mode:
Multiple Pulse Frequency and Synchronization Modes
The pulse output can be triggered and synchronized in three ways: from the internal clock; the pulse is triggered by an external signal and the pulse width is equal to external synchronization signal duration; the pulse is triggered externally, and with the pulse width is set by the value programmed in device memory.
Built-In High Power Temperature Controller
The integrated 5 Amp / 10 Volt Peltier controller allows control of high power thermoelectric coolers for laser diode temperature stabilization laser during operation. The temperature sensor input is for 10 kΩ NTC thermistors (Negative Temperature Coefficient). The temperature set point is user adjustable, and the controller can be set so that the temperature must stabilize before the pulse current source begins operation.
