Cost-Efficient 2,500mA Laser Diode Driver Circuit with TEC Controller Board
This driver is based on Lasertack's well known linear regulator for laser diodes in a new design with a higher functionality.
The laser diode driver operates as an analog driver, and includes automatic laser current cut-off in case of laser over-temperature or if the interlock circuit is opened.
Included Temperature Controller Controller Board
The TEC driver circuit monitors the laser diode temperature using an NTC sensor, with pre-programmed response values. The driver circuit will switch off the laser drive current if an over-temperature condition is detected.
The temperature controller board can drive up to 2 Amps to the TEC, and the voltage is determined by the power supply voltage used to power the laser diode driver circuit.
On-Board LED indicators
The LED indicators show in real-time the current state of all functions and driver state. Operating at normal conditions or failure state are immediately shown.
Safety Shutdown and Configurable Restart Process
The driver shuts down the laser when over-temperature is detected or the interlock loop is broken. The LED indicators show what kind of failure occurred.
In case of a shut-down because of over-temperature or opened safety interlock, the driver can handle the situation in two ways: It can restart the laser when the failure caused problem is solved automatically, or the controller will wait for a restart signal.
