Product Overview:

20 Amp, 45 Volt Laser Diode Driver

The LDD-1301 is a precision current source that is primarily designed to operate in CW mode. It's advanced performance features make it an excellent choice for integration into laser diode systems as well as use in laboratory R&D. Basic system status is visually indicated by on-board LEDs, more detailed status information can be polled at any time. The LDD can operate in a stand-alone configuration as well as in a remotely-controlled manner, with parameters adjusted on the fly. The laser diode driver is current-PID-controlled. Equipped with optional light measurement circuitry, the LDD-1301 can also be operated as a Laser Power Controller (LPC). Inquire for details and ordering information.
.
The laser diode driver LDD-1301 offers a variety of communication interfaces such as USB 2.0, RS485, RS232 TTL and CANopen CiA 301, allowing easy integration into a wide range of systems. This flexibility in communication toghether with the free of charge LDD-130x Service Software allows easy control and fault diagnosis in real time.
.
One of the outstanding safety functions of the LDD-1301 is the switch-off mechanism, which protects the laser diodes in the event of overcurrent or overvoltage. This is particularly important in sensitive applications where sudden current peaks could lead to irreparable damage. In addition, the integration of temperature sensors enables continuous monitoring of the laser diodes and provides an early warning in the event of temperature deviations, which also helps to extend the service life. An interlock input provides an additional safety level, which is particularly important in critical applications to ensure safe operation of the laser diodes.
.

Low Noise Output / Industry Leading Laser Diode Protection Features

These modules are innovative current drivers that contain a proprietary current source able to precisely drive laser diodes in CW mode. The driver board can be equipped with an optional laser power measurement circuit / photo-diode input. The LDD-1301 includes an input to monitor laser diode temperature (NTC thermistor input) and includes an auxiliary thermistor input to monitor the heat sink temperature. The LDD-1301 is fully digitally controlled; the firmware is upgradeable to offer various communication options and to meet specific customer requirements.
