200 Amp Laser Diode Pulsed Driver:

These pulsed laser diode characterization systems from Artifex offer a complete LIV testing solution for high power laser diode chips and bars. They offer manufacturers the ability to test and qualify devices prior to the packaging stage in order to weed out diodes that do not pass performance criteria . The LIV100 system utilizes current pulses as short as 150 nanoseconds in duration in order to prevent thermal control issues which may affect results.

Pulse Driver and Integrating Sphere:
The Artifex LIV100 system is comprised of a pulsed driver, a microprocessor controlled signal processing unit (with A to D converter) and an integrating sphere for beam measurement. The light, current and voltage measurement (LIV) is generated by pulsing the laser diode at a precisely set current output and measuring the laser power using the integrating sphere to capture the light. Their is a photodiode with a transimpedance amplifier for the laser measurement from the sphere and voltage across the laser diode is sampled and recorded. The current is then stepped and increased by set increments and repeated to measure the LIV curve across a pre-determined range.
