ILX Model LDP-3811 Driver

These laser diode pulse drivers, originally manufactured by ILX Lightwave and now manufactured by Newport, are bench top fully featured instruments with a GPIB interface. The simple to use front panel of the 3811 is one of its best features. All of the control parameters can be set and adjusted by using the key pad to choose the parameter and then setting the value by the adjustment knob. Another benefit of these pulsers is that they have two separate current ranges to offer the user a better resolution and also a lower noise specification when operating at lower current levels. These units offer the typical industry standard current limits to protect the LD during testing. The user has control of the width of the pulse, the frequency, and the repetition rate for thorough pulse parameter settings. The operating modes that the user can set include constant duty cycle and repetition rate modes. In constant duty cycle mode, the set duty cycle is maintained while adjusting the pulse widths.
