The PicoLAS model BFS-VRM 03 is one of the worlds fastest analog modulated drivers for seeding applications, DVD disk mastering, printing and many other high rep. rate applications. This high speed pulser offers an output current from 0 ~ 3 amps and delivers enough power to drive single mode diodes for short pulses and at high frequency. The pulse width spans from 1 nanosecond to continuous wave (CW). The pulse width is continuously addressable using the analog input signal. This wide pulse width span is unique to this model driver from PicoLAS. There are many features for protection of the laser, and the driver is base plate cooleld like all PicoLAS pulsers.
Short Pulse Laser Diode Driver Key Features:
These pulsed drivers offer an innovative current regulation design which actively prevents the laser diode from over-shoots and over-current. They offer protection against power transients through a regulated current rise time design. These drivers also offer protection against reverse current. They offer over-temperature shut down to protect the laser from thermal damage. These pulsers have an enable/disable input as well as a status output monitor. They include a mounting insert for a butterfly packaged laser with solder points directly adjacent to the pins in order to reduce the potential for pulse degradation from impedance matching.
