50 Amp Pulsed Laser Diode Driver Overview:
The model 784 laser diode pulse driver from Analog Modules is a small form-factor module designed for medical and industrial applications. A key feature of this model includes the ability to deliver high power in both continuous wave or in pulsed mode. These modules offer up to fifty amps of bias current output to your laser diode. The 784 offers an adjustable pulse width from six hundred nanoseconds to CW at a compliance voltage up to 2.5 volts. These drivers operate from a single five volt DC power supply. They are typically used for driving pump laser diodes.
Flexible Pulse Configuration and Laser Diode Protection:
In addition to PW range from 600 nanoseconds ~ CW, these high efficiency modules offer the user the full duty cycle range from 0 to 100%. They offer several rise time mode configurations. A slow rise time mode of 50µs from DC to 50 Amps, or a fast rise time mode of 300 nanoseconds from DC to 50 Amps. All modes and configuration settings offer very high efficiency of 85%. The protection features include a current limit and a thermal shut down to protect against over-heating damage. The pulsed & CW current output to the laser diode are buss bar connectors, and the input power supply and control signal connector is a 6-pin Molex connector.
