Product Overview:

60 Amp High Power Driver Overview

The LDI-595 high power laser diode driver offers a maximum output of up to 700 Watts (60 Amps @ 12 Volts) and can operate in constant current CW or pulsed Quasi-CW mode. They are typically used to drive high power multi-mode lasers in the 808 nm through 980 nm range for pumping applications.

These units feature a high efficiency design with high reliability components to offer long-life operation, and are integrated into industrial lasers systems used in harsh environments as well as laboratory R&D applications.

Laser Driver Features

These drivers feature a user programmable soft-start ramp of the laser diode bias current. The factory sets the ramp time to 300 milliseconds as the default. This current ramp-up and ramp-down function is designed to protect the laser from thermal shock during power-up and power-down sequences.

Laser Driver Control Interface

The LDI-595 features an RS232 interface and includes LabView drivers. An optional USB digital interface is available; inquire for details on ordering the USB control option.

Controller Power Interface

The LDI-595 has AC line filters and a fast response to shunt the current in the event of an open-circuit. The driver utilizes a high current connector, and a low impedance copper cable can be purchased with these units to optimize the QCW pulse mode of performance. The low impedance cable option is highly recommended for high power pulsing applications to achieve the shortest possible rise and fall times.

Protection Features for High Voltage Laser Diodes: The driver includes laser diode protection features such as current limit, soft start current ramp, and power surge filters to make sure that your laser diodes are protected at all times.
